In his long career, Mr. Kelly has represented more than 500 clients in personal injury actions in Federal and State Courts, including litigation involving wrongful death, small-aircraft crashes, automobile, motorcycle and premises liability. He acted as co-counsel in one of the largest wrongful death settlements with the State of California arising from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. As the lead counsel in over 1,300 unlawful detainer actions, he has successfully negotiated hundreds of settlements, and brought hundreds more cases to verdict or judgment through jury and court trials. He has also handled to conclusion civil suits relating to criminal matters ranging from rape to child molestation, and has argued cases before the State of California, 6^th District Court of Appeals and the 9th Circuit of the United States District Court, Northern District of CA.

As a former judicial appointee, Mr. Kelly served as a Commissioner of the San Mateo County Superior Court, where he has also been a Judicial Arbitrator since 1990; additionally, he has served as Judge Pro Tempore for the San Mateo Municipal and Superior Courts since 1986. In addition, he sits on the San Mateo Bar Association’s fee dispute arbitration panel and has performed volunteer landlord-tenant mediation since 1981. He is a member of the California State Bar Association, San Mateo County Bar Association, and the Irish-American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. District Court, Northern and Eastern Districts, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Military Appeals, the California State Supreme Court and all other courts of the State of California. Locally, regionally and nationally, Mr. Kelly is an accomplished speaker and sought-after guest expert. He earned his J.D. from San Francisco Law School and a B.S. in Business and Industrial Management from San Jose State University.
